Monday the 25th of May- P2/3 Home Learning

Monday the 25th of May –  Primary 2/3 Home Learning
Breakfast  Get Ready for the day ahead
Daily Check In/ Registration
Virtual playground today @12.30 for 20 minutes. This will be at a slightly later time to accommodate an appointment I have to attend.
This can be accessed the same way as a google meet, using the code p23miltonvirtualplayground. We are hoping this will run like a break time as an opportunity for the kids to have a chat, adults will just be there to supervise.  Please make sure you are using your child’s @invergordonacademy email to access this.

Question: Can you think of something you would like to show your friends during todays virtual playground? This could be a picture, school work or a toy.

Send a selfie with your ideas or email your ideas to: Aine.o’shea@invergordonacademy.org.uk
Health and Wellbeing
This week we are going to be thinking all about food, preparing food and where our food comes from.
Can you learn how to safely prepare any vegetable today? Thinking carefully about washing (and why we have to wash our vegtables) and chopping.
You can watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTVAalOpJgQ for safety tips.

Note for parents: This is not an independent task! It will be important to keep a very close eye on your little one, making sure they are holding their fingers away from the knife.
Break
Numeracy- Sumdog
Sumdog- diagnostic tests/daily challenge.
There are still quite a few diagnostic tests to finish, these help make sure the questions that sumdog are asking are at the correct level. For those of you who are finished the assessment I will assign a daily challenge.
Literacy- alphabetical order

Activity 1: Watch: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zp7mn39/articles/zfp66v4 And play the follow up game.
Activity 2: Can you find some books, games, comics or anything with a clear title. Can you sort these into alphabetical order?

Note for adults: In school today we spend much less time learning the alphabet and more time learning the phonic sounds each letter makes. You might need to have a reminder of the order of the alphabet to help your little one complete this task.

Have you registered?  Please send a photo of some completed work to the above email address, I’d love to add lots to our work to be proud of.
