Daily Check In/ Registration What is your favourite book and why? Ask everyone else in your house this question too. Send a selfie with your ideas or email your ideas to: Aine.o’shea@invergordonacademy.org.uk Please note: Registration is changing, along with a comment or email saying hello, I also need evidence of some learning which has been requested by Mrs Callander. This can be a photo, your child’s ideas or just a sentence or two with what you spoke about. You don’t need to do this for everything but for at least one task a day would be fantastic. I can see engagement on Sumdog so you don’t need to send me anything for this.
Health and Wellbeing This week we will be thinking about brushing our teeth and why this is important. Can you think of 3 reasons you need to brush your teeth? Why is it so important at your age?

Literacy- Writing Using your story map can you write the story you came up with yesterday? Remember it should have a beginning, middle and end. Think carefully about finger spaces, capital letters and full stops. Fancy a challenge? Try to use ambitious words and different openers. Note to adults: Remember not to worry if you can’t read the writing, just give lots of praise. There is no need to keep them writing until the story is finished (unless your little one is keen to do it) otherwise I would give them 30 minutes and whatever gets done is fantastic.

Numeracy Work on counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. Idea 1: You can do this by throwing a ball or teddy back and forward to each other, taking turns to say the next number up. Idea 2: Set a timer and start throwing the object between you (lots of people can play this game) if you are holding the item when the timer goes off, the other players get a point. I’ve attached some songs to help. Count by 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wwydguSKOU&disable_polymer=true Count by 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_awKlEMyleA Count by 10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYRTtwZGwj8 Remember: You don’t need to do all of these, if you find one way of counting your child is less sure of, focus on that.

Literacy- Writing Watch Katie Morag and the Worst Day Ever https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b05qfw22/katie-morag-series-2-13-katie-morag-and-the-worst-day-ever Task 1: After watching, can you make a story map to show what happens in the story. (A story map is pictures that show the main parts of the story, in the correct order. They have done this a lot in class, so let them show you how it’s done) Task 2: Can you retell the story to someone in your house using the story map you’ve made. Take good care of your map, you’ll need it for tomorrow.
